HAPPY HALLOWEEN
(1:00:56 AM 11/1/1972 Wednesday)
Groggily got myself up at 9:00 A.M. Got to work almost immediately by vacuuming the pool. It was fairly warm today but the past two days have been quite cold. Winter is upon us. By the way, Daylight Savings Time or whatever it's called happened Saturday night (Sunday morn) at 2:00 A.M. so we gained an hour somewhere. Starts gettin' dark at 5:30 nowadays. Nowaday happens to be Halloween, incidentally, and if it wasn't so late I might do something to celebrate it. Much of my youth was spent as a monster fan and I still look into the occult every now and then. But alas, the old creative juices just ain't flowin'.

Famous MONSTERS of Filmland
Finished up rooms 209, 210, and 211 today -- just have to do some touch up paint tomorrow and it'll all be finished. I gave Mark back his books and gave him fifteen dollars to buy me copies. I quit work about 5:00, got my check, scooped up some candy they had on their counter for Trick or Treaters, and departed. Got the RTD bus at about 10 to 6, got the OCTD at about 6:30 I guess. Got home around 7:30, walking from the Arches cause I couldn't get in touch with mom.

I had got a letter from Greg -- he's been to Chicago and visited Sue & Phredee Phrogg. The day he got there, Sue broke up with Marcus. If she writes back to me, she'll pro'ly have a lot to say about how things're goin'. Got the Time Life book of the "Emergence of Man" series. It's titled Life Before Man and has the latest data on dinosaurs I'll have to catch up on. I've been reading The Magus pretty regularly and I'm now on chapter 40, page 242. That'll do it for this entry I guess.

Oct 30 - Another overnight stay in room 113

(12:51:41 AM 11/1/1972 Wednesday)
Well, well, what happened then? Um, lemme see. I got the 10:00 bus for the Ivanhoe, but on my way I mailed a letter to Soozwol I had written the night before. It said, "Dear Sooz, How're things goin'? Grade A." That's all. She never answered my previous letter sent a coupla months ago.

I worked at the Ivanhoe fairly lazily not doing much of great interest. Quit work at 5:00, went to the Hamburger House for dinner, returned to the Ivanhoe and tried to sneak into a room to spend the nite (Mom was scheduled to have her bridge crew over Monday nite), but I ran into Mike, and told him I missed the bus so could I stay overnite please. So I got room 113 again and watched T.V., exercised and read more of the Magus. Finally went to sleep some time after 12:00 midnight  -- By the way, I called the optometrist to cancel the appointment for Tuesday -- before I give someone $100 I should wait until I have the money.

I did very little except, as yesterday, watch the idiot box for the usual programs, read The Magus, and continue work on T.F. Sunday nite was extremely windy with gusts reaching in excess of 45 miles per hour. It was tough to sleep but I managed sporadic naps throughout the night.

Didn't do much atoll. Spent my time reading the Magus and working on T.F., but mostly wasted hours drawing the slightly lewd pictures hereto attached. It was inspired by one of Mark's textbooks, "Man," which, after several pages of photos showing male & female apes, showed a very frank couple of pictures of a good-looking coed and a varsity football player, full-frontal wearing just as much as the apes. What the hell, we all know what's there, right?
These pencil drawings were cut out with an X-Acto knife, then I dove into my photo file and came up with the background, then I got the foreground. At any point any of it could have gone any way -- in the semi-stylization I was struck by what could be done by just a few lines, and I had to refrain from some ideas, and contemplate others. Same with the photo background due to my wide range of possibilities. But I'd gone far enough...

Anyway, I drew this from a painting on an ad for a Vampirella poster (on the back of a Vampirella magazine of course). She looks better without her costume, so I divested her bod of the usual adornments.
Combined with the above artwork, included with this nude Vampi, it seems like the two illustrations are one great symbolic message. Could be. At any rate, they represent what might be my artistic limits at age 18 1/2.

I thought it was a fairly well drawn work of semi-erotica but alas, after more consideration the attempt doesn't seem worthwhile. It's lacking something I think. Clothes possibly. Mayhaps something must be left to the imagination cause without it, things tend to be a bit boring.

Oct 27 - Late buses, hitching, a long confusing walk and a horse**

Friday, October 27, 1972 - Page 301
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim

(11:56 AM 10/28/1972 Saturday)
Got up at 9:00 and took a bath. I got the 11:00 A.M. bus and took it to Westcliff Plaza where I got a haircut. I've been needing one for quite awhile. Got the bus at noon and rode to Santa Ana where I got the bus to L.A. and got off at Town and Country Shopping Center. Went to the Eye Catcher to get my glasses fixed (a screw was missing from the right hinge, the frame was so loose the right lens fell out occasionally and the nose pad was gone, among other flaws). I made an appointment for contact lenses Tuesday at 4:00, but I'll have to change it cause I'd need half the price ($200.00 complete charge) when I went for the appointment. So I'll have to wait till I get a hundred bucks.

I waited for the bus, it took so long I stuck out my thumb and got a ride to a place way up Main street where there weren't any cars or phones. So I walked. I came across Orangewood which I knew intersected with Harbor, so I walked along it for a long time (I met a horse -- that's how far out the place was -- and it followed me until a fence stopped it). I bumped into the freeway, followed a train track that went under the freeway, and waited at the bus stop in front of the Holiday Inn. After walking about 5 miles, I wanted to take the bus. It appeared in a half hour, and I got to the Ivanhoe at 3:00.

At work I shampooed rugs till 7:00. I borrowed 5 text books from Mark's evolution class and I'll get him to buy me them all. Great reference material. Mom came to pick me up at the Ivanhoe. Watched T.V., went to sleep.

12:55:30 AM
So this is the 300th day of the year! Big deal. I'm on page 75 in The Magus. Nothing much else to report except I'm going to sleep. --

(11:49 AM 10/28/1972 Saturday)
Got to work at 9:40 and finished painting and setting up the rooms. I had lunch at the Hamburger House again (guest receipt attached). Left again on the 6:00 RTD to catch the 6:30 OCTD and Mom picked me up at the Centinella parking lot near where I get dropped off. After about 4:00 it began to rain from the dark clouds that had been around all day. Tha's about it. ---

(12:50:00 AM 10/26/1972 Thursday)
Got in to work at 9:40 as I did yesterday (Left on 8:00 bus) -- It has been foggy in the morning for the past several days but this morning was the foggiest. Afternoons are hot & clear tho. Painted all day. A new maid was hired and she's been working since Monday. Her name's Linda too but she's plump & dumpy but has a reasonable personality. Left work at 6:00 and got to Newport & Coast at 7:15 where I told Mom to pick me up, and she did. Chunk was home to eat dinner -- he & Joe'd gone paddling again. We had dinner and watched T.V. He ate & left.

I got a letter from CRM Books. About a month ago I sent a coupon from Psych. Today for Anthropology Today. They sent the coupon back -- the price had changed. So I sent a check and will mail it tomorrow. That's all.

Tore down the rooms and began detail work. Mike & I made the fence for the back -- no, did that Mon. -- but Tuesday we mixed the cement and filled the holes so it's finished. I checked with Mark about his evolution textbooks. He goes to Fullerton College (Cal State I think it's called: info) and is taking Evolution. I wanna buy some of the texts. Anyway, took the RTD leaving from Harbor & Katella at 6:05, got to Santa Ana at 6:30 where I took the OCTD bus to Balboa where I got off at Newport Blvd, and Coast Hwy. Walked home from there. Watched T.V.

(12:00 AM 10/24/1972 Tuesday)
Procrastinated greatly at getting to work. The 7:00 bus seemed too early, 8:00 could be avoided, 9:00 wasn't essential. 10:00 was late but not too late, so I finally got on the 11:00 bus and got to the Ivanhoe at 12:45. Vacuumed the pool, did miscellaneous maintenance, and Mike and I put in the little fence in back. I dug two holes for the posts, and hammered the boards to them, and planted it -- Mike supervised.

Today was Veteran's Day. Rah. Happy Day, Vets. I watched T.V. today after getting home about 7:00. Not more of today to say so that's it.

This is later. Sunday I occupied myself with T.F., and after the last entry I finished the Bradbury book. I started the Magus by John Fowles and now am on page 35 -- extremely small print. Mom finally got the clothes washed Sunday, and I finally finished the preliminary scan of my rough notes. Much more sifting remains.

Got up around 11:00. It was a clear unwet day, but too cool to tan in. I went out for the mail, Sunday paper, milk & bread and vegetables, reading Ray's book (nearly thru -- now on page 193), and did more on T.F. Went to sleep about 12:30 or one and got up again about 5:30. Worked on T.F., then watched T.V. till 12:15. Quit watching T.V. (did dishes around 10:30) and continued work on T.F. It just became 4:00:00 and I don't know what I'll do right now, but for starters I'll quit writing ---

(3:45 AM 10/22/1972)
Got the 9:00 A.M. bus to work. Mary had finished painting the frames in the first room and was staining the doors. I commenced putting everything back while she frame-painted the second -- the third din't need it. So while she was cleaning the first, I was setting up the second. I finished and took my lunch break around 3:30. Thursday I took my break about the same time and had lunch at the "hamburger house" on the corner, spending $2 for the food. Friday tho I din't eat.

It rained a while Friday but I was inside working and din't notice. Mark showed up about 3:30 and he & me set up the last room. I did various maintenance work, then mom got me and we drove to the Paulo to see "King Elephant" (a wildlife picture we'd seen a year ago when it was called "African Elephant" [IMDb info] ). The second feature was "Treasure Island," with Orson Welles. Got back around 10:45.

Worked on my Tempus Fugitives story. Due to my job I pro'ly won't get it finished this year, but sometime early in '73 it'll get published, hopefully in Analog, I'm sure. Despite my inept writing and rambling plot, I've got a good story and it'll sell. Really. I usually work on it in my spare time and carry a note pad to jot down ideas while at work. I'm not forgetting it and it is still my foremost project. But it'll take time to complete. [In fact, the first episode of Tempus Fugitives was published as a comic in Issue 11 of Star*Reach magazine, December 1977 (info), with art and story by me]

(3:40 AM Sun morn, Oct 22)
Went to work on the 7:00 A.M. bus. The rain last night washed off lots of gravel from the roofs and I started cleaning it up, but it took too long so Mike told me to go paint. Mary had finished all detail work in the first two rooms, and completed it in the last before she left. I finished painting the two rooms and the third had recently been painted with the same color (Nu Navaho White) so only the bathroom had to be completely repainted -- the rest needed only touching up. So the rooms were about finished. Mom came to pick me up and we drove along the RTD route so I could show her where to pick me up in Santa Ana if ever she had to.

Wednesday, October 18, 1972 - Page 292

10:30 PM
The way I wake up for work is this -- I set the alarm for 5:30 (that's the time when Lohman & Barkley come on -- but I usually don't have the energy to turn them on) -- when it goes off I reset it for 6:00, then sleep, and set it for 6:30 when it goes off, and get up finally at 6:30 to get the 7:00 bus. But today I missed the 7:00 alarm so set it for 7:30 so I could get ready for the bus at 8:00. Missed the one at 8:00 tho, so crawled out of bed and called Laramée at 8:30, saying I was sick. Then I slept till 1:30.

It has rained intermittently (it's raining now) -- once in the evening it rained so damned hard it felt like a monsoon -- solid water in the air. Anyway, I did the dishes in a few hours. A prize-winning Czechoslovakian kayaker appeared at about 9:45 (Chunk was gonna go paddling with him). Chunk wasn't here so I called his home but he wasn't there -- Joe went to wait by the bay. Chunk showed up here a few minutes later and went out for him and they paddled. About 7:00 they returned (it was raining then). He left his C2 here (downriver racer) -- Chunk stayed to eat our food and watch the end of "Godzilla vs. The Seamonster," and "the Paul Lynde Show."

Then we played poker and I learned to play black jack. I beat them both at black jack. Chunk left around 9:30. Mom and I played till 10:00 (when she lost all her chips). I'm on 112 in Ray's book and I sewed my backrest and am going to sew my pants. I've got a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Oct 17 - Dealing a Clockwork Orange***

Tuesday, October 17, 1972 - Page 291
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Anaheim

(1:00 AM 10/18/1972)
Got the 7:00 A.M. bus. Work today was repair of hardware, a little detail painting, and I organized the tool cart. Mark & Mary worked today. Linda is no longer with us -- she had a kidney problem and can't work, so Mike's hunting for another maid. Mike & I back-flushed the pool today. I got up to page 103 in "S.W.T.W.C." [Something Wicked This Way Comes]

Took the bus back from 10 to 5. Got into Santa Ana about 5:20. OCTD bus appeared 6:00. Got home around 7:00. Murray called and asked if I wanted to see Clockwork Orange. Later Chunk & He came by in his cruddy old station wagon and drove to the Peddler fish 'n chips place where I had my only meal of the day -- a BarBQue sandwich, a Turkey Sandwich & potato salad. Then we drove toward the movie at Fashion Island, but his car died about a mile from it. Our attempts to revive it were in vain despite the fact we took it to a gas station. (It died at a corner where there was a Shell & a Standard. We had to push it across the street to the Shell. They couldn't get it going.) So we left it there and ran to the theatre, getting there in about 7 minutes. We were late but not too late.

When I saw this Stanley Kubrick film in 1972 it was Rated X, but this verdict was appealed and it was revised to an R rating.
Watched Clockwork Orange and the second picture, "Dealing" (which I'd seen about half a year ago, it's pro'ly noted in this book somewhere), and it was all over at 12:30.

[I first saw "Dealing" on May 12, 1972, but I could not remember this film & found no record of it online... I just checked again and discovered this Wikipedia info -- "Dealing: Or the Berkeley-to-Boston Forty-Brick Lost-Bag Blues" is an adaptation of a Michael Crichton novel co-written with his brother Douglas. It starred Barbara Hershey and featured John Lithgow as a supporting character in his first film role. I still have no memory of it even tho I saw it twice. Below is a photo from IMDb.]
This memorable 1972 comedy/drama/thriller was a marijuana caper flick
Walked back to the Shell station and Murray's car started fine. He drove me home & I gave Chunk 40 for the motorcycle which he's gotta get into running condition. Tha's all. ---

1970 Sea & Ski Advert
Went to sleep at 3:30, woke up at eight when a dream told me M*A*S*H was on (I dreamed I heard the theme song) -- mom had the set on very low, too low for conscious auditory reception from my vantage point -- I woke at a minute after 8:00 and went down to watch it, then I watched the regular shows and "The Odd Couple," a movie I'd seen 'bout a year ago.

Official Title: "Song from M*A*S*H (Suicide is Painless)"
The director's 14-year-old son wrote the basic lyrics in 5 minutes and, by 1980, had earned more than 1 million dollars for co-writing the song. Robert Altman made only $70,000 for directing the movie.

This movie turned the chaos of the Korean War into a satirical comedy -- many people believed it was really about the ongoing war in Viet Nam. (wikipedia info)
Screen Shot of TV's M*A*S*H Title Sequence
Based on the irreverent movie, this popular TV comedy depicted a MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit during the Korean War which was fought from June 25, 1950 until July 27, 1953. The CBS series, which ran from September 17, 1972 to February 28, 1983, lasted a lot longer than the war. The show opened with the catchy "Song from M*A*S*H" theme music from the movie, but the darkly philosophical lyrics were never heard on TV. (wikipedia info)

"Suicide is Painless"
Words by Michael B. Altman with Music by Johnny Mandel

Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
So this is all I have to say

Suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger, watch it grin

Suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

A brave man once requested me
To answer questions that are key
Is it to be or not to be
And I replied "Oh, why ask me?"

Suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

And you can do the same thing if you please

FRIDAY the 13th
12:00 AM
I just removed the gold foil from the Star Trek insignia on my red shorts. It was peeling off because it wanted to be dry-cleaned. Underneath it was white leather. It looks better now, methinks.

Got on the 9:00 A.M. bus and got into the Ivanhoe at 10:45. Painted 'till 6:00 and then mom got me. Linda started today, learning her duties from Mary. She worked till 1:00. Angela came in the afternoon around 3:30. Mark came about 2:00. I got the first two rooms finished painted, and the first one was put back together. The schedule for next week will be different and the task of painting shouldn't be so time consuming.

1st Black President
[Rod Serling wrote the screenplay based on the novel by Irving Wallace. Four days before Barack Obama was inaugurated, the LA Times asked James Earl Jones about his 1972 movie. He said, "It was done as a TV special. Had we known it was to be released as a motion picture, we would have asked for more time and more production money. I regret that." -- wikipedia info]

After work, Mom & I drove to the Paulo to see The Man (Excellent movie about the first Black Pres of the U.S.) and Hannie Caulder (in which Raquel Welch gets tough as a gun fighter) -- they were both worth looking at.

1st Lady Gunslinger

Believe it or not, this movie was really pretty good. After 40-odd years, I still remember the deadly contest between the gunfighter (Culp) and the knife-thrower (Borgnine). You can see part of it in this trailer, which tells the whole plot with one spoiler after another.
I'm on page 18 in Ray's book. Same old stuff. It's truly amazing how that man can write so much with so little -- he has only one theme for all his stories, just one lousy theme. In copious doses I guess unoriginality can pay off.

I got mom to pick me up at 7:30. Watched T.V. and took a bath (I was bespeckled with paint). Finished reading all the stories in Star Trek 7 (I've been reading it in transit and during lunch break -- by the way, didn't bother to take the break today. I never eat anyway).

Gotta find another book -- only one I could dig up was a Bradbury (Something Wicked This Way Comes). I hope it's not his typical lousy writing. That's all for now.

Oct 11 - Missed the bus, took a cab home

Wednesday, October 11, 1972 - Page 285
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim

11:30 PM
Barely got up at 7:00. Went to work. Drove Mary (the maid) home to get on slacks, drove to the paint store to pick up two five-gallon cans of Nu Navaho Flat White water base paint, then picked up Mary and returned to the Ivanhoe. Did that in the Ivanhoe van. It was easier to drive than I'd assumed. Worked basically on painting. About 3 girls applied for the maid job between 9 & 12. Mike hired the prettiest one. She starts work tomorrow.

Mary was painting frames (mouldings) today. I finished painting some walls. Have to have 3 rooms finished by Fri. morning. Left about 6:15. The RTD bus got me into Santa Ana where I learned the OCTD [Orange County Transit District] bus was thru for the day ('bout 7:00 it was) so I took a cab home. It was a good cab driver so I gave him a $10.00 bill -- the fare was $7 something. I'm running low on dough and I was just paid yesterday. Watched T.V. and ate.

Oct 10 - My first Ivanhoe Payday: $41.53

Tuesday, October 10, 1972 - Page 284
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim

9:00 PM
Left for work at 7:00 and got there at 8:45. Mark was in today (as usual) and we tore apart three rooms in the upper story and went to work on them. Multi-varied tasks awaited me but they weren't difficult and I soon should be quite efficient at it. Kept busy all day.

Got payed today and Mike & I drove to the bank to cash the check. I paid him $5 I owed, so now I have about -- oh, I dunno. But more money than I've had in awhile. Drove the car back from the gas station, all recharged. Quit at 5:45. Mike & I drove some guests to the Disneyland Hotel, returned and Mike & I rode on his Kawasaki 750 to Grandlydia [nickname for my trailer park home]. He likes to exercise the bike occasionally. I ate a lot of turkey when I got home at about 7:00 P.M. The only thing I'd eaten previously was an instant breakfast. I'm doing alright on one meal a day. One snack, rather.

Oct 09 - Met the owner of The Ivanhoe

Monday, October 9, 1972 - Page 283
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim

(9:00 PM 10/10/1972)
Got up and out to get the 8:00 A.M. bus. For normal people today was the third in a three-day weekend -- they called October 9 Columbus Day (instead of Oct 12). Mailed Greg's letter. At work I vacuumed the pool and various other deeds. I drove the Chevy to the Mobil station on the corner to get the battery recharged and left it there. Ernie Krause showed up for a little while (he's the owner of the place), so I met the boss's boss. It was a short day for me (Mon's & Fri's) so I left at three. Took the bus home. Watched TV and ate.

(11:11 PM 10/6/1972 ...continued from previous entry)
[as I was saying] killed time swimming. Left at six. Got my pictures from Chicago back. Oddly enough, they weren't disappointing -- rather artistic, really. I may be a reasonable photographer after all. I saw "To Sir, With Love" tonight (from 9 to 10). Mike McEvers had the book so I read it a couple years ago -- first time I saw the movie tho. It is now remarkably windy outside, and is 11:29:19 inside. End. --- ---

I've put the photos of Chi in this book. I took the pictures on August 10 -- they are put in this journal in the order I took them -- the first & second didn't come out. [I am including all of these pics on one page, tho they can also be found posted on the various dates listed below]

On Page 28 [Jan 28] is #3: The entrance to the Shedd Aquarium seen from the pedestrian underpass.

Page 29 [Jan 29], #4: A black fisherman seen thru the round hole in the wall surrounding the aquarium (the following two shots were taken thru various wall portholes).

Page 30 [Jan 30], #5: An airplane flying to the landing strip on Lake Michigan, passing over the Adler Planetarium.

Page 31 [Jan 31], #6: Adler Planetarium (I know it's sideways, I did it on purpose. That's art).

Page 34 [Feb 03], #7: Wall behind the Aquarium showing the holes and the Chicagoland skyline, & #8: A tour 'copter setting down on the airstrip, taken from the wall on the side of the Aquarium's shadow opposite to the one above.

Page 118 [Apr 27], #9 (from rear to fore) The Planetarium, the Aquarium, the tour boat, and two humans (it looks like the girl is waving -- I didn't know it at the time), & #10: The entrance to the Field Museum.

Pages 272 & 273 [Sep 28 & 29], #s 11 & 12: The Hancock Building is in the background. It's the elongated truncated triangular building with the two towers sticking out the top. ---

11:00 PM
Watched T.V., did the dishes. Mom went shopping so our cupboards are no longer bare. That's about all. ---
Attached to this page is an RTD (Southern California Rapid Transit District) Bus Ticket. From my home to The Ivanhoe was less than 30 minutes by car -- The bus ride took one hour, forty-five minutes.

Oct 06 - The guy I'm replacing confronts Mike

Friday, October 6, 1972 - Page 280
LOCATION: Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim

11:11 PM
Got to work at 9:40, getting the 8:00 A.M. bus from here. Mike was still asleep when I got there. I did my routine work (cleaned the pool, tested the chlorine & acid -- added about a gallon of acid -- checked the heater rooms, etc.) then Mike and I moved some furniture from the storage room in back to room 109 to be sold later ('Twas left over from the previous management). Mike went to change into a T-shirt, and I moved five air-conditioners into the storage room (they were HEAVY -- must've been more than 80 pounds). I was duly exhausted.

The day was quite hot -- was sposed to be 94 according to the radio. Nice fall weather. Worked till 2:45  (I work from 10 to 2, Mon & Fri, 8:30 to 4:30 Tues, Weds & Thurs, I think). Tom went to talk with Mike, and came out later, said "So long" to me and drove away. Mike was going to fire him, but he quit before he got the chance. He was whistling when he left. He was a good fellow. The job's officially mine now.

I made about 43 dollars this week (check comes Tuesdays). The cast of characters there is currently L&M, the maids -- Mary, a chubby good natured young woman with an Irish accent (she works from 9 to 5 I think) and Angela, a young pretty little girl who works from 3 to 5, I think, and lastly, Mark, who works Mons & Tuesdays & Sat, I think. Mom picked me up, I killed (KILLED THAT PEN, TOO.  IT WAS THE BETHLEHEM PEN I WAS USING LATELY. NOW I'M WRITING WITH THE ONE FROM THE DISNEYLAND HOTEL I STOLE)  CONT'D [This entry is finished on the next page: October 7]

Oct 05 - Learning the job

Thursday, October 5, 1972 - Page 279
LOCATION: Anaheim & Newport Beach, California

8:45 PM
Got a 7:00 A.M. bus & got to Ivanhoe around 8:45. Inspected rooms, then did renovation work. It was a hot day & I made many mistakes before I got the hang of it. Tomorrow is a short day, theoretically between 10:00 & 2:00 for me. Mom picked me up at 5:55 and we bought a coupla hamburgers with my dollar. That hamburger, plus an egg sandwich in the morning, was all I ate this day. I need a bath.
