Another ridiculous memento from the Europe trip. I don't remember it, but it is indeed my handwriting. It was written on the bus, on the back of a Ti Amo card. Ken gave it to me (included 4, Aug, 72).

Jul 25 - US health officials admit that Black Americans were used as guinea pigs in the Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male.

Aug 01 - Democratic vice-presidential nominee Senator Thomas Eagleton withdraws from the race after revealing he was once treated for mental illness.

Aug 04 - One of the largest solar flares ever recorded knocks out cable lines in the US. It begins with the appearance of sunspots on Aug 2; an Aug 4 flare kicks off high activity until Aug 10.
